Flanna Whistles

Flanna whistles are standard tin whistles. Decorated in a simple way. They are highly suitable for playing Irish music or English morris dance tunes.

Are you still playing an instrument with strictly round holes? You don't have to. Your playing could improve with finger holes that are not round. Our instruments have mostly eliptical tone holes.

Flanna Medieval Flutes

Flanna medieval flutes are whistles made in the medieval style. They are made from thick walled tube and elaborately decorated.

Our medieval flutes can have 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 holes. The tuning can be modern (whistle) or any known ancient tuning.

New Whistles and Flutes

New designs with new materials. We now have 3 types of instruments, all made of Tufnol and Brass.

1. Standard tin whistles - With tuning adjustment a half note up or down. Options for type of sound, loudness, hole arrangements, etc. Various tunings; D, C, F, G etc.
2. Medieval flutes (medieval whistles). Beautifully decorated. These are intricately engraved, hand painted and polished. Many options for type of sound, loudness, tunings, hole arrangements, etc. One-piece or two-piece, with medieval decorations.
3. Specialist Instruments - Early Music Flutes, Pentatonic Whistles and Flageolets based on our Standard or Medieval range.
